The Story of 3DQB

Dec 13, 2021

The story of how 3DQB got started and the roots of the people involved goes back a long time.  Tom House, our co-founder, played for the legendary baseball coach Rod Dedeaux at the University of Southern California.  Tom has always said that “Rod Dedeaux saved my life.”  And through out Tom’s career he has always maintained that he wanted to pay it forward to the next generation the way that Rod did for him.

Fast forward 40 years, and a young Adam Dedeaux is a pitcher at USC, and as luck would have it, a job opportunity came up in which Tom House accepted.  Tom would be named Pitching coach of the Trojans and just like Rod had once done for Tom, he would than do for his grandson. He took Adam under his wing and mentored him throughout his college and professional career as well as shape him into the coach he is today.  When Adam was done with his playing career, he knew he was always destined to be a coach and to follow in the footsteps of his Grandfather and his mentor. So he got a job working with pitchers under the tutelage of Tom House as well as a coaching position on the USC baseball staff.  It was during this time that word got out that Tom House had been helping a certain Quarterback behind the scenes for quite some time: Drew Brees.

As a result, it drew the interest of a few other famous Quarterbacks. One of them being Tom Brady.  Once word got out that some of the greatest QB’s in this era were coming through their doors, the phone started ringing.  It was then that Tom House asked Adam if he would like to take this on, training Quarterbacks, as opposed to just pitchers.  He accepted with the idea that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity.  To work with some Hall of Fame quarterbacks but also to put together a model for how to train the elite with what we knew to be true about the science of throwing as well as the input we were getting from a Tom Brady and Drew Brees.  It was a mutually beneficial relationship for all involved.  From then on, there have been more than 50 NFL quarterbacks that have come through what is now known as 3DQB.  For years, we have mostly worked behind the scenes and not many people were even aware that this was going on.  But over the last few years, 3DQB has opened their doors to College, high school, and now the youth division of Quarterback training.
